Pontiac won't give up prison fight

ILLINOIS - One thing can be said about this city's mayor: He's not giving up without a fight. When the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability meets at Pontiac Township High School this afternoon on the proposed closing of Pontiac Correctional Center, Mayor Scott McCoy will be ready to paint a picture of not only the long-term damage, but of the damage already done by the mere suggestion the prison would close.

"I think the public and COGFA will be shocked by what comes out of this hearing," McCoy said. "After many meetings over the past few weeks in preparation for this hearing, I just can't wait for all of this to become public. Read more.
